Village on Java sinking into the sea amid rising waters
Original: Displaced on the Island of Java: A village sinking into the sea – documentary review https:// fed.brid.gy/r/https://www.
A documentary reviewed on Resilience.org follows a village on the Indonesian island of Java that is being swallowed by the sea, forcing residents from their homes. The review highlights how coastal flooding and land subsidence are displacing communities, turning climate adaptation into a daily reality for people on one of the world's most densely populated islands.
Why now: Concern about sea-level rise and climate displacement in Indonesia is drawing attention to the film's depiction of a sinking village.
