Physicist Nivedita is working to place quantum field theory, the framework underlying much of modern particle physics, on rigorous mathematical foundations. Quantum field theory remains mathematically incomplete despite its experimental successes, and efforts to formalise it are a long-standing challenge in mathematical physics.
