France has tasked Thales, Bull and the CEA with developing software for quantum computers intended for use by the French armed forces, according to a report by Clubic. The partnership links a major defence electronics group, a computing company and the state's atomic research body, highlighting France's push to turn quantum computing research into military applications.

Anthropic claims its Claude AI model has solved a nine-loop particle physics calculation, a problem of exceptional complexity in quantum field theory. French research institute CEA-Leti and Grenoble-based quantum computing startup Quobly have expanded their collaboration to speed up the development of next-generation silicon quantum technologies.
