Swedish truck maker Scania and snow-grooming equipment manufacturer Prinoth are expanding their partnership to develop electric snow groomers. The collaboration aims to bring battery-electric technology to slope preparation machines, cutting emissions and noise at ski resorts. Interest follows broader moves across the heavy vehicle industry to electrify specialised off-highway equipment.

Swedish truckmaker Scania will supply its Core 800 battery packs to Prinoth, the German manufacturer of snow groomers, for use in electric versions of its slope-preparation vehicles. The deal extends Scania's battery business beyond trucks into specialist off-road machinery, while Prinoth gains proven automotive-grade cells as it electrifies equipment used at ski resorts.
