TimeLord: choose your random future

TimeLord is a Python demo that constructs an integer seed for CPython's MT19937 PRNG so that random.Random(seed) produces a chosen output—e.g. 100 consecutive coin-toss heads—by solving the inverse problem over GF(2) bit constraints. It illustrates post-selection bias: improbable-looking sequences are trivial if you pick the seed after choosing the desired future.

Why now: Recently shared on Mastodon as a neat demonstration of seed-to-output inversion for Python's PRNG, sparking interest in its statistical implications

Who it is for: Python developers, programmers, and anyone interested in pseudorandomness, statistics, or selection bias
